Tough Love

I was reminded of a valuable lesson today: Love requires much effort.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”   1 Cor. 13

Lord, grant me the wisdom, strength, and compassion to love selflessly and wholeheartedly. Let it not be for the benefit of my own reputation and rewards, but solely for Your glory and honor. May Your love for me evidently overflow and bless those that surround me…

If you don’t feel strong desires for the manifestation of the glory of God, it is not because you have drunk deeply and are satisfied. It is because you have nibbled so long at the table of the world. Your soul is stuffed with small things, and there is no room for the great.

— ― John Piper, A Hunger For God (via after-the-heart-of-god)

Remind me…

…just how much You love me.

Bring back the cliches. Bring me back to the basics. Make it so obvious that I wouldn’t miss it again. Remind me just how beautiful I am to You…

Vision - Stephen Sou
This is a drawing I did several months ago.  Giraffe in Africa symbolizes vision or visionaries.  You think it’s because of it’s long neck, that it is able to see further than most creatures is why they are considered as “visionaries”.  That is part of it, but the major reason is because of the size of it’s heart.  Giraffes are known to have a large heart among the animals.  Of course they have a wider perspective of what is behind and front of them.  The heart is what drives the vision.  If our hearts are not in it how can we even have a vision?  But how great will our visions be when it is inspired by the huge heart of God?
